Google glass plans to make “bone conduction” mainstream

So according to a few sources at the FCC, Google just succeeded in obtaining a patent for bone conduction technology. Relax guys. This isn’t some futuristic mumbo jumbo. Bone conduction has existed for quite a while. It’s a process where by sound is transmitted to the ears via vibrations on specific bones behind the ear. As such headphones will not be required. This process hasn’t really seen any application until now. The advantages are pretty cool: there is no hindrance to the ears since headphones aren’t required. As such the user is not handicapped to ambient sounds in the environment. Goes a long way in terms of safety and ergonomics.  Nice!
